Printing of CDs and DVDs

Once your CD or DVD has been duplicated wouldn't it be nice to have your discs printed to give them a professional look. At Swift Duplication we offer a range of printing techniques so that your duplicated discs live up to your expectations.

Ink-jet printed CDs and DVDs

If your run is under a hundred units the most cost effective way to print your discs would be to have them ink-jet printed, Using the standard matt ink-jet discs or water shield discs by Taiyo Yuden which give a high gloss finish. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Water shield discs are great for full colour work without too much solid colours and standard ink-jet are better for flat colours.

Screen printed CDs and DVDs

Although you can screen print CDs and DVDs in full colour, screen print is best suited when spot or pantone colours are used. With screen print you can specify the exact colour required which can't be achieved with litho or ink-jet. So if you duplicated CD or DVD requires a corporate logo that uses specific pantone colours then this is the printing solution we would recommend.

Litho Printed CDs and DVDs

Litho or offset print is only used for full colour work i.e. photographic images or where there are a lot of tonal changes in the image. The resolution of the final image is a lot sharper than if the discs were screen printed in full colour, so we would recommend this over screen printing for these types of images. This is the same kind of print you would find on a DVD or blu-ray disc you buy in shops.
