CD Replication

On many occasions having a CD replicated might not be the correct option, it might be that you only need a small quantity or you need the job to be turned around in a short amount of time. This is where CD duplication comes into its own. At Swift Duplication we have a whole range of solutions to address this problem.

CD Replication... The Process

Your data will be transferred to a glass plate via a laser where a metal stamper is grown via electrolysis, the glass plate is then recycled. The stamper is then put into a CD injection moulding machine which presses the data into molten polycarbonate forming the shape of the CD under a pressure of 30 tons. Your data is stored on the disc in the form of pits on the polycarbonate surface. Once this process is complete the top of the disc where the pits are is spluttered with aluminium so that the laser can reflect off of it when in a disc drive. It's then sealed with a UV lacquer to protect the aluminium from oxidising, the discs come off the line at the rate of one every two and a half seconds. The disc is then ready for printing. Depending on your preference and the design on the CD this can either be screen printed or litho printed. We will then fulfil your product into whatever packaging you have specified. This process normally takes around 10 working days what ever quantity is required. If you can't wait that long Swift Duplication do have alternative methods that can be used.
