Printing on to Blu-ray discs

Blu-ray is the next generation of high-density optical disc and is capable of storing up to 50gb of data which is perfect for high definition video recording and distribution, as well as storing large amounts of data. As with the CD and DVD the Blu-ray disc comes in different formats. Pressed discs are called BD ROM and usually contain movies and video, while recordable ones are called BD R and can be used for short runs or archival of large amounts of data or video. The re-recordable disc is called a BD RE and stores the same amount of data but can be re-written to many times. All three types come in 2 versions single layer 25gb and double layer 50gbs.
